One can imagine the amusement, absurdity, eccentricity, cleverness, and comedic brilliance that I, along with countless individuals of my generation and other young people worldwide, experienced during the “Scary Movies” that came out in the 2000s, especially thanks to the creative genius of The Wayans Brothers, who created and starred in the franchise.

This is a great moment since the entertainment industry is buzzing again, focusing on movies that appeal to all kinds of viewers — films that are fun, entertaining, and just right for a good time with friends and family. Scary Movie fits that vibe, and it’s no surprise that big studios like Paramount and Miramax are reviving this popular horror-comedy series of films, bringing back all the classic elements including The Wayans Brothers.
Count me in as someone who will watch the new Scary Movie when it gets released here one day. For me, being around the new generation, laughing and hearing them have a great time watching Scary Movie, and realizing, “I have never laughed this much before,” makes it worthwhile. I want them to experience the fun I had with my generation back in the day when the original Scary Movies were released, which forever changed our perspective on parodies and spoofs.

When someone gets endlessly made fun of, it shows they’re popular and have made a mark on society. Scary Movie, in particular, poked fun at a ton of different things, and no one was safe from the jokes. It took horror films from way back and more recent ones and turned them into something that you could only watch on a comedy sketch show without any restrictions. Some actors from the movies that got spoofed even found the parodies hilarious, which just goes to show that everyone loved the Scary Movies.

Has anyone noticed that this genre has been missing for over a decade? A significant reason for this is the DEI and woke movements, which often take offense at anything and everything. This has led to a culture where many people struggle to appreciate humor, resulting in the decline of spoof and parody movies. I mean, how many times have I seen people in a cinema suddenly burst into laughter, only to quickly cover their mouths or become self-conscious because they are laughing at something deemed inappropriate by those who promote these misguided woke movements and DEI? Seriously, they are the ones who lack humanity. Thank God and President Trump, their time is over in Hollywood.

Forget date night; this will be a classroom full of people-watching at a time when people will line up to see this if it gets shown here based on my own experience from twenty years ago. Indeed, The Wayans Brothers are filling the gap left by spoof and parody movies because they know they excel at it. I am happy about this because we need to laugh in cinemas again without worrying about others’ feelings or what they might think. For me, whenever you go against your most basic instinct — laughter and recognizing what is funny — you are heading down the wrong path and getting lost in various rabbit holes. A new Scary Movie is the cure for that!
