Michael Bublé was overwhelmed with pride and joy after his coachee, Filipino singer Sofronio Vasquez, triumphed in his “The Voice” quest.
The Canadian singer-songwriter and Vasquez shared a tight hug after the latter’s name was called as the winner of the competition’s season 26, as seen in the clip shared on the program’s social media pages on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Article continues after this advertisement“I’m so happy,” Bublé told Vasquez, who then encouraged the latter to give a message to his fans, especially his Filipino supporters.

Thank you so much. I can’t wait to go home and celebrate and bring the trophy.”
In a separate interview with PEOPLE, Vasquez regarded Bublé as the “best gift ever.”

Article continues after this advertisement“Because at the end of the day we represent our countries, our family, our faith, our friends. We represent an incredible, iconic television show that’s now had 26 seasons [and] has a ton of integrity and so much care,” he said.
“We knew that this wasn’t about winning a cup. This was about the start of career,” Bublé told the publication.

Aside from Vasquez, American singer Shye, another contestant from Team Bublé, made it to the final round of “The Voice”. Shye came second to Vasquez.
